What now...

'I found the one, he changed my life or was it me that changed and he just happened to come at the right time' this lyric from Rihanna's song and the above picture sparked this post. Met someone that I feel changed my life forever in the sense that I now go out of my way to look for relevant literature, read world news, try to be interested in the things happening around me and just generally trying to work on myself. Make no mistake I knew before I met this person that this was the thing to do but I guess meeting and conversing with this person imprinted it more in my mind. What i've come to realise is that I look up to this person and really admire his accomplishments and where he started from. Donot underestimate the power of reading, it can change your life.

Ps. I just found this piece I drafted in 2014 or so and I'm publishing it because I dont want to ever forget...... no he was and is not the love of my life and looking back I spoke too soon, but i did feel this way for a very long time so i dont want to ever forget. I still admire him though, that would never change.

Greece, the place to be

This beautiful picture is always what I picture in my minds eye anytime I think of Greece. Beautiful landscape, city sitting on a hill.Greece is a country in southeastern Europe with thousands of islands throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas.Greece is also known for its beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party resorts of Mykonos.Major islands include Crete, home to the Palace of Knossos, famously associated with the mythical Minotaur. Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city, was an important commercial center during the Byzantine Empire. Mountainous, mainland Delphi was home to a famous oracle at the Temple of Apollo. Olympia, on the Peloponnese peninsula, was birthplace of the original Olympic Games. The Aegean island of Rhodes was settled by the Knights of St. John, before becoming part of the Ottoman Empire.
I have always wanted to go to Greece. It is one of the top places on my travel wish list. I always see pictures on Instagram of different people in santori which is a city in Greece, for their wedding and honeymoon. The other day I was watching an episode of 'keeping up with the Kardashians' and they went to Mykonos, which is another city in the country and the view was breathtaking. They did activities like ziplinning and paddle boarding.
A great destination for family activities like walking and playing on the beach, taking picturesque pictures and going on sailing trips and ship cruises. One very good thing about Greece is that they speak mostly English so it would not be hard to communicate with the locals. It is also relatively cheap compared to most of the other countries in Europe. Their currency is the euros and it is a schengen country. If you are a citizen of a schengen country or from a country in the European union, going to Greece is Visa free.Greece's traditional cuisine features such staples as lamb, fish, feta cheese, tomatoes and olive oil.
Another city I love in Greece is Athens. Athens is the capital of Greece and is rich in cultural history. It has historical edifices like the temple of Olympian Zeus, the acropolice of Athens and so much more. Greece has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry weather. A great time to visit would be between the months of May–September.
